چکیده

Abstract Syngas can be produced from biomethane via Partial Oxidation of Methane (POM), being an attractive route since it is ecofriendly and sustainable. In this work, catalysts Ni supported on MgO–ZrO 2 solid solutions, prepared by a one-step polymerization method, were characterized HRTEM/EDX, XRD, XPS, H -TPR, in situ XRD. All catalysts, including Ni/ZrO Ni/MgO as reference, tested for POM (CH 4 :O molar ratio 2, 750 ºC, 1 atm). NiO/MgO/ZrO contained two solid-solutions, NiO-MgO, revealed XRD XPS. (30 wt%) solution exhibited high methane conversion hydrogen selectivity. However, depending the MgO amount (0, 4, 20, 40, 100 percent) major differences NiO reducibility, growth 0 crystallite size during reduction POM, carbon deposition rates observed. Interestingly, with lower content achieved highest CH (~ 95%), selectivity to (1.7) CO (0.8), low (0.024 g .g cat −1 h ) Ni4MgZr (4 mol% MgO) turning out best catalyst. indicated metallic nanoparticles (average 31 nm), solution, small amounts NiO–MgO present well. The presence also influenced morphology deposits, leading filaments instead amorphous carbon. A combustion-reforming mechanism suggested using support strongly improves catalytic performance, which attributed effective O , activation at Ni/MgO–ZrO interface.

Catalytic Partial Oxidation of Methane over Fe2(MoO4)3 Catalysts

The study of new energy carriers for sustainable energy conversion processes is a hot research area. Among the potential energy carriers one finds biogas, containing a large fraction of methane, which attracts high interests worldwide. However, to be more useful, e.g., concerning storage and transportation, conversion of gaseous methane fuel into liquid fuel like methanol is desired. The conven...

Partial Oxidation of Methanol over Highly Dispersed Vanadia Supported on Silica SBA-15

The partial oxidation of methanol to formaldehyde was studied over highly dispersed vanadia supported on mesoporous silica SBA-15 (VOx/SBA-15). VOx/SBA-15 catalysts were prepared by a novel grafting/ion-exchange method and characterized using UV-VISand Raman spectroscopy. The resulting surface vanadium oxide species (0 – 2.3 V/nm), grafted on the inner pores of the SBA-15 silica matrix, consist...
